We visited the area of Finnish lakes, surrounded by water and forests. Among them stands Mount Koli, 347 meters high. After the fortress of Savonlinna and the hills of Punkaharju, we ended our trip by visiting Helsinki, the capital of the country.
The city of Lahti is notable for its sports facilities and surroundings: the great lake Vesijärvi reaches the lake Päijänne and the forests and hills of Salpausselkä. We visited the medieval church of Hollola.
The city of Kuopio is located in the heart of Finnish lakes. The best way to discover Kuopio is start climbing the panoramic tower Puijo, on the outskirts of the city, and admire the stunning views that open from the top.

The small town of Porvoo is the second oldest city in Finland and is known for its cultural heritage. Along the river are the old red painted wooden storage buildings that appear photographed in all travel guidebooks.
The old city center is on the Senate Square, where the statue of Tsar Alexander I stands as a lookout, behind the imposing Lutheran Cathedral Tuomiokirkko. One of the most interesting of the Gulf of Finland is the fortress of Suomenlinna.
