Turkey

In the outgoing circuit with bus towards Ankara we passed near the Valens Aqueduct. It was built in the fourth century (in 375) by Byzantine Emperor Valens as part of the water supply system for the city. It has a height of twenty meters.

We passed the ski resort of Bolu - Koroglu, located on the highway between Istanbul and Ankara, 50 kilometers from Bolu. The center is surrounded by pinewoods and the ski area is located between 1,900 and 2.350m high.

Ankara: After eating in the Turkish capital we will visit the Mausoleum of Atatürk (Anit Kabir) located in that city. Located in the modern part of the city, you are reached through the wide avenue. It was built in 1953. It is another example of the cult that exists in Turkey to Mustafa Kemal. It is a limestone building, mix of classic temple and modern monument. The marble sarcophagus weighs about 40,000 kilograms.
