Day 7 Picherande - La Bourboule – Picherande (50 Km.)
(in 25 Km.) La Bourboule: We spent our last day, before the return, to surprise the children. We drove to La Bourboule, spa town like the neighboring city Mont-Dore and recreational city, especially by Fenestre Park where we will spend the whole day. The Bourboule, next to the Dordogne River, especially noted for its hot springs. We will be able enjoy them on the big Thermal baths or visit the thermal pools of Aqualudique Pole, featuring relaxation area, swimming area, play area, outdoor toboggans, beach volleyball court, etc.
La Bourboule - Fenestre park - La chenille sur rails
We arrived to Fenestre Park which is located next to the cable car of Charlannes that goes up the ski area and the Plateau de Charlannes and that will close permanently in September 2012. Access to the Fenestre park is free and only paid in each of the attractions you want to upload. Payment is made in the currency of the park, the jetons.
La Bourboule - Fenestre park - Fenestre Equilibre
The next attraction where children ride was Chevaux galopants, childhood mechanical horses. After lunch at the snack bar in the park, the star attraction was "Fenestre Equilibre", a circuit in which children, secured with a harness and helmet, advance doing balancing between platforms located at 3 different levels, eventually falling by a zip line. We close our visit to the park playing minigolf and riding to bumper cars. We left the park again through the miniature train (ticket purchased in the morning includes return).
Picherande - Church of Saint-Quintien
(in 25 Km.) Picherande: We did a walk through Picherande, where stands the church of Saint-Quintien, XIV century. Its exterior is austere. They emphasize the sculptures themed in the hunt. A staircase leads to the tower fitted with two brass bells, 1561. Picherande especially noted for being start point of numerous trails for walking or cycling. We finished the tour of the town buying a delicious cake in the boulangerie.
