(in 230 Km.) Seno Otway Penguin Colony: Approximately 40 kilometers from Punta Arenas is one of the colonies of Magellanic penguins. There are several marked paths which lead to a number of viewpoints which allow to observe how the penguins leave the water, dried, and in single file back to their nests in groups within a hundred yards from the shore of water.

To access these viewpoints should be well wrapped, as long cold wind. But it's worth suffering the inclement weather to see how fun moving the Penguins. Some of them cross the marked roads, which allows to see them closely, but they are very timid and scared very easily.

(in 40 Km.) Punta Arenas: It is the capital of the XII Region of Magellan, southern Chile, which has about 140,000 inhabitants. It is located along the Strait of Magellan, gateway to two oceans: the Pacific and Atlantic. Noted for its colorful houses and by the strong winds that sweep the area. In one of its streets had strings that older people were seized at the days of strong winds.
