Day 5 Chiu Chiu - Lasana - San Pedro - Calama (249 Km.)

Chiu Chiu lagoon: This lagoon is located on the outskirts of Chiu Chiu. It´s in the middle of a desert area. The main curiosity of this gap is that he has not been found bottom.

(in 8 Km.) Lasana: It is known for its pukará, an indian twelfth-century fortress. Built on cliffs and inhabited by people of the high social hierarchy in their time, served as a defense to an estimated population of 800 people. The fortress was abandoned after the Spanish occupation.

(in 128 Km.) Valle de la Luna (Moon valley): Valley west of San Pedro on the old road to Calama, south of the new road. This place is and deserves to be one of the most visited of the area, not only because of its accessibility, but also because of the beauty. The Valley of the Moon is an area of interesting rock formations and sand for millennia flooding and winds have given a series of soft colors of the desert. It is part of a Los Flamencos National Reserve. With a height of 2624 meters above sea level is part of the Cordillera de la Sal and presents different stratified forms and saline outcrops, sculptural forms dating back thousands of years.

The biggest attraction of the museum is the mummy named Miss Chile, found in the Atacama Desert.

(in 95 Km.) Calama: Sleeping in this village to take the plane early morning. We slept at the home of Ana Luz, which met a couple of Days before. She offered us his home in a display of hospitality. We share her meal and enjoyed her company even having Ana Luz his mother admitted in the hospital.
